Description

The Director of Education and Program Development is responsible for researching current evidence based clinical practices for home care, hospice, and palliative care to develop and design clinical guidelines and educational programming. Designs and updates nursing policies and procedures, disease management guidelines, advanced disease management education, and clinical practices, incorporating compliance with professional standards of care, ethical and safe business practice, and state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Researches current evidence-based practiced to design, develop, and implement clinical systems, processes, and educational materials to support clinical practice and care delivery systems
  • Ensure disease management programs are current and are reflective of evidence-based practice
  • Idenfiy opportunities to improve clinical knowledge and skills competency, directs development of process systems, educational material, and quality assurance and assessments tools
  • Collaborate with and manage Department Intranet Administrator
  • Collaborate with operations, clinical, physician services, home care, hospice, and palliative care to identify opportunities for system improvement and educational opportunities
  • Collaborates with other departments within corporate as representative of Home Health, Hospice, and Palliative Care division

Educational Requirements

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the State Board in which he/she practices.Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.

Position Requirements

Master's degree in nursing or related field with nursing education or in-service design preferred

Ten years experience as a registered nurse with a current license and specific training and background in home care, hospice or palliative care. Clinical Specialist preferred

Role is located at the corporate office in Toledo, OH, some travel may be required
