High School Diploma with course work in recreation is desirable. Completion of a state approved activity training course is preferred but not required.
Previous experience in leading recreational activities, arts/crafts, intellectual/educational activities, community outings, etc., desired.Job Specific Details:
Assists in the development and delivery of activity/recreational prgrams to promote the patients' opportunities for engaging in normal life enhancement pursuits and to increase and/or maintain functioning levels. Maintains precautions/limitations list on each patient. Encourages patient participation in group and individual activities including arts/crafts, community outings, religous activities, intellectual/educational activities, community/center service activities, recreational activities, etc. Assista in completing activity documentation, when needed, if tarained and in conjunction with regulatory requirements and company policiies. Copies forms for activities, as needed. Submits supplies list to Activity/Recreation Director and submits receipts for activity expenditures. Assista Activity/Recreational Director in the organization and supervision of the volunteer program including recruiting and training volunteers. Assists with Patient Council Meetings when necessary. Assist in planning community activities that jointly include the community, staff, families and patients. Assists in the completion of a monthly calendar of available activity/recreational programs and posts it in the center.
