Application Process Questions

Do I need to have experience to apply for a position?

Each position may have different requirements. You can review the job description for education and experience requirements. There are several nursing positions within ProMedica Senior Care that accept newly licensed nurses.

How do I apply for a job at ProMedica Senior Care?

All applications should be submitted using the online application process. The first step in the process is to visit the ProMedica Senior Care careers website and click on "Search Jobs." Once you have identified a position you are interested in, you can click “Apply Now” at the bottom of the job details page. Applicants will create a username and password and provide an answer to a security question. Once the New User Registration is completed, the system will recognize the applicant’s email address the next time they attempt to apply or re-access their application.

How long does it take to complete the online application?

The length of the online application varies. Applicants that have a resume available to complete the online application will experience a short application as some information can be parsed from the resume.  Estimated 5-10 minutes for online application completion. 

Do I need to have an e-mail address to apply for positions at ProMedica Senior Care?

Yes, in order to complete the online application, an e-mail address is required. You will be notified by e-mail and text (if you opt-in to text messages) to confirm your online application was completed and additional updates on the status of your application.

If I don’t have a computer, how can I apply for positions at ProMedica Senior Care?

ProMedica Senior Care’s career site is accessible on mobile devices as well. Computers are available at most public libraries.  If you don’t have access to mobile device or computer, you can stop in the ProMedica Senior Care location closest to you to complete a paper application.

Who can I contact if I need an accommodation for special assistance in completing my application?

I don’t have a resume. How do I create one?

Resume templates are available free of charge on the Internet. They can be located by searching for resumes.

How will I know if my online application was submitted successfully?

You will be notified by e-mail and text (if you opt-in to text messages) to confirm your online application was completed and additional updates on the status of your application.

What happens after I submit my application for an open position?

You will be notified by e-mail and text (if you opt-in to text messages) to confirm your online application was completed and additional updates on the status of your application. ProMedica Senior Care may contact applicants by e-mail, text or phone as follow up and/or to schedule interviews. 

How can I track the status of my application?

You can log into your account with the user e-mail and password you created to check the status of your application.

I forgot my username or password. How do I reset it?

Applicants will create a username and password and provide an answer to a security question. Once the New User Registration is completed, the system will recognize the applicant’s email address the next time they attempt to apply or re-access their application. If an applicant forgets their username or password, they can click the “Forgot Username” or “Forgot Password” link on the login page.

How long does a position remain open?

ProMedica Senior Care does not have defined closing dates. Open positions will remain on the career site until the position is filled or closed.

If I am selected to interview for a position, how should I prepare?

Make sure you are dressed appropriately for the interview and that you arrive on time for your appointment. If you need directions, the recruiter can provide them. You may want to bring additional copies of your resume and a list of references. Candidates may also want to prepare questions you want to ask.

How will I know if a position has been filled?

If a position is no longer on the career site, it may have been filed or closed. You can also review the status of your application by logging into your account.

What are job alerts and how do I sign up for them?

Job alerts are a system generated email communication to you based on the location and type of position entered of interest. You can sign up for job alerts here.

Hiring Process

Does ProMedica Senior Care require drug test and background checks?

A pre-requisite to employment with ProMedica Senior Care is the completion of drug test and criminal background check. Applicants will be asked about authorizing pre-employment drug screening and background check as part of the application process.

How long does it take to get hired?

ProMedica Senior Care tries to get candidates through the hiring process as quickly as possible. Once someone has been interviewed and made an offer, we try to get someone started as soon as the onboarding steps are completed. 

What is the hiring process like?

If someone goes through the entire hiring process, the steps would be: online application, interview (possible phone and/or live interviews), offer, and onboarding including drug testing and background checks. Typically the first day of employment is orientation.

Who is ProMedica Senior Care? What makes up ProMedica Senior Care?

ProMedica Senior Care is a major provider in the United States of both short-term post-acute and long-term care. The various types of patient care include skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers, assisted living facilities, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, and hospice and home health care offices.

How long do you have to work at ProMedica Senior Care before you can transfer?

We believe that it takes time to be properly trained and effective in one role, before considering opportunities at another location or another role. Corporate employees require one year of service and field employees six months of service before they are eligible for transfer.  There may be rare instances with appropriate approval where we would allow someone to transfer before those timeframes.  Current ProMedica Senior Care employees can complete an online application for transfer or promotion once they have discussed this with the current supervisor or HR Manager.

How much does ProMedica Senior Care pay, and do they pay weekly?

There are a variety of reasons why someone would want to work at ProMedica Senior Care including competitive pay. Employees are paid bi-weekly.

Does ProMedica Senior Care have relocation opportunities?

ProMedica Senior Care looks at relocation on a case-by-case basis depending on location, skill set and need. Nurses can get more information in regards to relocation here.  

What are the shifts and hours?

Our skilled nursing and assisted living locations are 24/7 operations, so would need clinical staff at all times of the day. Other personnel may or may not be needed all shifts depending on the role.   Our outpatient, home health, and hospice locations have various hours.  Each position is specific, so would be best to apply to the position of interest and talk through that further during the interview.
